The Platform Crew
Snow: Before we I was doing the platform I was a student at East Stroudsburg University studying business management. I was looking for different schools to transfer to because I wanted to learn more about the entertainment business. Clear Fm was a blessing because this was everything I never knew I wanted. I had mentors, people who actually wanted to work with me and not just talk at me and tell me what to do. I was working with people who have been in this business for some time and really teaching me how to be the best I can be. Me and Jah started out marketing and promotion and it got to a point of us realizing what we are really doing here. We were then approached with the opportunity of having our own show and we were skeptical at first but we eventually planned it and did our first show.
Jah: My name is Jarred and I'm from New York I moved out to the Poconos with my family and attended Northampton Community College. I graduated with my associates in production which has nothing to do with radio. I was on Instagram one day and saw this ad for New World Music Media located in Stroudsburg. I called Ray Daniel and he said come in and I took the internship at Clear Fm.
What do you guys do individually on the show?
To promote people and positive strives for the future no matter what you do
How do you wish to inspire young people?
Jah: Never stop and make sure that anything that you do you put a hundred percent into it. Have a good following and make sure the people you surround yourself with take you places.
Snow: I wish to inspire people that have a good work ethic and you have to want it. You have to want to keep going and know that you can do whatever you want to do and get where you want to get but if you stop and slow down you will never get there.
What advice would you give someone that would like to start their own business?
Make sure you plan it out thoroughly and make sure you have people around you that are striving for the same thing. Make sure you have a couple mentors that can teach you and give you real life experiences and advice.
What is the Platform Crew?
The platform is a base for people to come to, people that have a dream and a voice that want to be heard. We are here to help those people we invite them on our show and interview them, so people can understand them as an artist. What these artists have been through and what obstacles they had to face to get where they are today. We are here to promote the people that need to be promoted, people who are striving for their future in positive ways. Not the people who are comfortable with their everyday lives, we are here to promote the hustlers and the entrepreneurs. You can be an artist or an innovator or someone looking for a brighter future. The platform is more than just musical radio we want people to talk to us without the radio so we can see what we can do to help them and elevate them.
How did you get your idea or concept for this type of business?
That was me and snow through the idea and I had a team who came up with the name and the design for the show and the movement. Without Nasir, Wayne, Quincy and G this would not be possible they were all here when we decided to do this show.
