How long have you been modeling?

I've been modeling since February of this year 2018

Why did you choose to model as a career path?

Honestly, modeling chose me. I didn't search for modeling, it wasn't even really a thought as far as a hobby or career when it came to my attention. Growing up, especially with a dad who does photography and music, people always asked me if I were a model or telling me a should be. I used to get stopped at the mall a lot with my mom, but we didn't have the money to do the professional headshots they wanted. Looking back on it, I'm glad I waited because now I'm business savvy and that's the kind of model you have to be in today's industry. You cannot rely on an agency to get you booking or build your name - you have to build your own name and BRAND. This is exactly the concept my mentor Mr.Levy Paul (Tazz) has been teaching me.

How was your first casting call experience?

My first casting call was actually in Massachusettes with Erykah Chanel for her F.A.M.E Charity Fashion. I actually met Erykah when I was younger, maybe 12 years old. She was one of my dad's models. He had a company called 7th Angel Productionz where he basically helped aspiring models build a portfolio - and she has some of his best shots. At the casting, she was very helpful with it being my first time! She taught me how to do a half-turn and full turn before I did my walk.

Have you done any fashion shows or magazine shoots?

I have done 5 fashion shows (4 in NY and 1 in NJ), 1 magazine shoot with Portfolio Fashion Magazine in NYC, and had a submission accepted to Femme Rebelle Magazine in the United Kingdom for their August Issue.

What else do you do besides modeling?

I'm a full-time student, and I work part time aside from modeling. Right now I am actually helping my cousin Cleetchie, a producer-engineer, move his studio back into an office space. Soon I will be managing the business side of things. I am also developing my skills in makeup, in the majority of my photo shoots and fashion shows I am wearing makeup I did myself. Photography and poetry two things I am starting to really take interest in so I'm waiting to see where this all goes.

Where do you see yourself as a model 10 year from now?

10 years from now I will have already made a name for myself as a model in the fashion industry. I would want to do what my mentor is doing. I want to give back to my community and build, who will recognize their own power and give them the opportunity to be something great.

“I want to inspire young people, like myself, to BE themselves - because that’s where all the Power comes from...you”

Whats next

What's coming up next is the TV Web series my CEO and mentor Mr.Levy Paul is putting together called Born To Be A Model. It will be showcasing some of the Ultimate Dream Entertainment models as well as new faces in a documentary style. It will follow the lives of select models as well as talking about the importance of marketing/advertising and cross-promoting brands within your network. Our upcoming fashion shows, My Last Night In Paris directed by creative director/producer Mr.Levy Paul will also be featured in the TV web series Born To Be A Model.

What agency are you signed to? And what were the benefits from it?

I'm actually with a production company named Ultimate Dream Entertainment Model Management, not an agency. Our CEO is Mr. Levy Paul (Tazz) and basically, instead of just promising you bookings the way an agency works, he teaches you how to be an entrepreneur and market yourself as a BRAND - not just a model. We learn how to market on social media, the importance of cross-promoting each other when you are in a network, model etiquette, and most importantly we learn the business aspect of the fashion industry.

Who or what inspired you?

A close friend Sanajah Sims actually inspired me first, again I met her as one of my dad's models growing up and we just clicked. She's like 5'10 though, so I never really thought I could model being 5'6. That didn't change until my friend Joseph Hall, who's been modeling for a few years, talked me into giving it a try this year while we were working out.

With modeling, there are many obstacles that you have to face which one was your most difficult obstacle?

I haven't been experiencing obstacles with modeling, it's actually been smooth sailing. I feel so comfortable doing this, it just comes naturally and I enjoy it. I would say the obstacle would be getting paid gigs, but that comes with time and strengthening your portfolio - and mine is just about there. I have some projects coming up that will take me to the next level so I'm not too worried about that right now.

As a model what are your strengths and weaknesses?

My strengths would be vibing pretty easily with other people, if you aren't comfortable then it will show through in your photos. I'm getting better at posing on the fly, especially in outdoor locations. My weakness would have to be studio shooting right now, being outside gives me more inspiration for posing in my photos.

Do you wish to inspire young people through modeling?

I definitely do want to inspire young people through my modeling, especially young mixed children. It's a tough demographic to be in depending on your environment, I took me a while to fully love all of me. My thick, curly hair was something I always ran away from or tried to change, and now it's my signature. My hair was permed from kindergarten until my senior year of high school before doing a big chop the summer before entering college. I want to inspire young people, like myself, to BE themselves - because that's where all the power comes from...you.

If you were to give somebody advice on life or how to start modeling what would you say?

I would say do what feels right. Feel the energy, feel the vibe, and if it is off then that is probably not the place for you. You will find your path, and your experiences and desires will lead you there. If you want to be a Top Model... Believe that you already are. I know I am.
